Textiles Review

31st October 2008
Jane Montgomery has been informed by the UK Government that the EU Commission officially announced yesterday that China double-checking surveillance licensing will end on 31 December 2008 and they saw no reason for it to be replaced by single-control import licensing. Instead, they would continue to monitor trade using the TAXUD customs monitoring system and EUROSTAT trade data as well as making more use of the EU-China contact group meetings. So far so good though.
